About the project

The holiday house in a quiet cove in Jadrtovac adapts to the sloping terrain in such a way that every part of the ground floor opens onto terraces at ground level. In addition to stepping vertically along the slope, the volume is also shifted in plan, enabling each spatial unit of the house to open toward the sea while being protected from the sun — a desirable feature for a residence primarily intended for summer use.

The house comprises three spacious bedrooms, each with its own bathroom and integrated workspace, along with living areas and several outdoor spaces of varying character and orientation, including a sun deck with a green roof and a rooftop hot tub.

Due to the terrain descending toward the street, the house presents modest dimensions and almost no openings on that side; however, it expands and unfolds through its volumes, apertures, and outdoor spaces toward its private garden.

Excellent architectural solutions and outstanding professionalism marked our collaboration. The architects succeeded in achieving a perfect balance between modern lines and the specific character of the micro-location on the Croatian coast, while fully respecting the position of the building itself. The space was used intelligently, and the design process was exceptionally fast and transparent. I would particularly highlight their excellent communication and objective approach to my requirements, which gave me, as a client, a complete sense of confidence. We received a house that is exactly what we wanted for our summer retreat!
