About the project
Three stone ruins (locally known in Korčula as kućišta) have been transformed into a restaurant and a relaxation area, conceived as an extension of the residential program of the main building of Lešić Dimitri Palace.
As no relevant documentation existed to enable an accurate reconstruction, and only the masonry of the lower level remained for analysis, a facsimile approach was not considered. The existing stone walls were structurally consolidated and preserved as a visible historical layer, while new upper floors were introduced above. Their contemporary “interpolated” character is deliberately emphasized by separating the new volumes from the original masonry through a clear structural joint.

In terms of materiality and typology, the intervention fully corresponds with the city’s urban fabric; however, through its clean lines, smooth surfaces, and pronounced monolithic character, it is unmistakably contemporary.
The dialogue between the existing and the newly added elements forms an architectural expression aligned with the urban identity of Korčula — a city that, at the time of its origin, was itself contemporary and original.

Our terrace stretches along the medieval walls of the Old Town, offering panoramic views of the Pelješac Channel and the Korčula archipelago. A beautiful interior space and two private rooms are also available, creating a unique and intimate dining experience.
