About the project
The family house from the mid-20th century was structurally reinforced and converted from a single-family home into two separate duplex apartments with a modern interior design. The property owner had previously had positive experiences working with Matrica, so he entrusted us entirely with the decision regarding the new spatial organization, on the condition that we create two comfortable and well-defined living units.

The decision to divide the existing house vertically rather than by floors was made in order to preserve the picturesque external staircase and to ensure that both new sections would be spatially equivalent. Organizing the layout across two levels made it possible to introduce striking internal staircases, which significantly define the character of the space.
