About the project
An early 20th-century villa located at the very edge of a park within the protected historic urban ensemble of Karlovac is undergoing a thorough reconstruction, including the activation of the basement and attic spaces. Small additions — an entrance canopy and a garage extension — are introduced in a highly discreet manner.

The façade color matrix prescribed for the historic center of Karlovac requires every other house to be finished in either warm or cool tones. Accordingly, Villa Ana — as we named it after the owner — was required to adopt bluish hues. A similar tone was subtly carried through into the interior design, though only in details that can be replaced over time.
